Fìor Sgeir Cottage, Isle of Skye, Scotland – Holiday Rental Agreement 

When you complete your booking, you accept these rental booking terms and conditions.

INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL FEE – The rental fee includes bed linen, towels, electricity, a supply of firewood, wi-fi (slow connection but sufficient for emailing and surfing the net) and use of a landline. Details of household provisions supplied and landline costs will be given in the joining instructions. 

This is a NON SMOKING and no vaping property. We regret PETS are not allowed.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – The maximum number of guests is two persons. 

MINIMUM STAY – The minimum stay is 7 nights during the high season and 3 or 4 nights at other times.  If a booking is for fewer nights than the minimum stay, guests will be charged the costs of the minimum stay. During the high season the changeover day is Saturday. 

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES:  Arrival any time after 4 p.m., departure by 10 a.m.

SEPTIC SYSTEM – The cottage is on a private bio-digester septic system which will be damaged if the wrong materials are put down the drains. Please only dispose of toilet paper, i.e. no feminine products, condoms, cotton wool, wet wipes, tissues, plastic, nappies, paints and artists’ materials, grease, oil or other chemicals in the WC, basins or washing machine. Only use the cleaning products supplied in the cottage. 

USE AND CARE OF PROPERTY – Guests will use the accommodation for private holiday purposes only and will not sub-let the property. Guests are asked to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition.

DAMAGES  –  Damages may be charged to your card if:

• damage was done to the property or contents other than normal wear and tear
• the property requires special cleaning
• items were removed from the property
• there was smoking or vaping in the property
• pets were brought to the property.

In addition, the following charges may be claimed from your card if necessary:

• the cost of land line phone calls
• electric vehicle charges 
• any other relevant charges and costs incurred by the owners on behalf of the guests.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING

EV charging at the property must be with the dedicated 7v Zappi charger provided. Contact the owners for the access code. Electricity usage is logged by the Zappi charger and must be paid for before guests’ departure.

CANCELLATION

Guests must contact the owner by email, telephone or post to give notice of cancellation.  Cancellation charges are as follows:

• More than 30 days before the check-in date : full refund of the rental fee
• Between 14 and 30 days from check-in : 50% refund 
• Less than 14 days from check-in : no refund
• If the stay has to be cut short : no refund.

INSURANCE – It is recommended that guests take out suitable holiday insurance to protect against possible cancellation. 

FALSIFIED BOOKINGS – Any booking made under false pretences will be subject to forfeiture of rental fee and the guest(s) will not be permitted to check in. 

LIABILITY – The owners of the cottage shall be under no liability to any person, or member of a holiday booking for any personal injury, loss, theft, or damage to personal effects howsoever arising at the accommodation. Nor can the owners be held responsible for any circumstances beyond their control including, but not limited to, mechanical breakdown, bad weather, failure of any public or private service supply, or illness. The owners are relieved of responsibility and liability in the event of the accommodation already booked not being available owing to storm, fire or circumstances beyond the control of the owners. The owners reserve the right to refuse bookings.
